Jon Bialecki

Jon Bialecki is a fellow in the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh. His academic interests include the anthropology of religion, anthropology of the subject, ontology and temporality, religious language ideology, and religious transhumanist movements. His first monograph, A Diagram for Fire: Miracles and Variation in an American Charismatic Movement, was published by University of California press, and was a recipient of the 2017 Sharon Stephens Prize by the American Ethnological Association. He is currently working on his second manuscript, A Machine for Making Gods: Mormonism, Transhumanism, and the Structure of Speculative Thought.
